How the connection works

What Rankdesk does inside WordPress

Push based over the WordPress REST API with an application password.

What you need first

  • WordPress 5.6 or newer, served over https
  • Pretty permalinks on, anything other than Plain
  • An editor or admin user with an application password

Good to know

  • Security plugins such as Wordfence can block REST writes. Allow the Rankdesk user agent if posts fail.
  • Page builders like Elementor keep their own copy of the content, so builder layouts are not applied.
